Arlene Strom, the former senior category buyer for Blick Art Materials, the nationwide chain of art stores, joins the staff of ArtMolds Journal this month. 

Arlene will be adding her expertise to the publication with years of knowledge of sculpture, mold making, casting and ceramic materials and tools as the senior category manager for these items. She will author a new column titled, “Material Girl” which will cover general, materials as well as new and unusual materials that might not be familiar with the artist readers.

Arlene recently took retirement from Blick Art Materials based in Chicago and will relocate to her new home in Fort  

Lauderdale in June. She plans to stay active in the artist communities, with her new writing career in the ArtMolds Journal being just another means to keep up involved with the art community.

Her new column will also answer readers' questions about uses and sources of materials. Arlene, indicates she is very excited about this new challenge and is looking forward to hearing from her new audience when her column appears in the August-Septemper issue.
