Premium KazTex Latex Casting Rubber
KazTex Casting Latex is premium latex formulated specifically formulated for the production of mask, toys, hollow molded rubber articles, toys such as balls, props to create imitation pottery, masks, puppet heads, and display articles. It is also appropriate for coating foams such as polystyrene, texturing, and general special effects for theater work. EnvironMolds Casting Latex is especially useful in making flexible props. It is also useful for dip molding. KazTex is a one-component air-drying latex used with gypsum molds. KazTex is poured or brushed into a gypsum mold and filled to the top. It is allowed to stand for about 30 to 45-minutes, the KazTex is poured back into its receptacle. You may achieve better results by slush casting or rolling the latex around in the mold before you pour the excess out. KazTex Latex can be tinted in advance by adding acrylic-based paints. When tinting latex, note that colors tend to dry darker than they initially appear. Painting latex cannot be achieved with great success unless the surface is adequately prepared. That is because latex stretches, causing the paint to crack and chip. Therefore, it is best to use latex-based paints to eliminate this possibility. KazTex Latex Tips: Thinning: You may thin latex by adding water (use distilled water) Ammonia: KazTex Casting Latex contains ammonia which can evaporate. Smell the latex, and if the ammonia smell has gone or diminished, add up to 26% Aqua Ammonia (from a chemical supply store). Don't use ammonia at grocery stores as it is only 2-3% and contains soap. Instead, add a little at a time, just enough to bring it back to normal. Shipping: Latex is destroyed when it freezes. That means it requires special handling in winter weather. It must be shipped 1- or 2-day service.
