from 32 reviewsI hook rugs and have tried many backing products over the years and this is my favorite. One gallon coats about 7 of my rugs and spreads easy with a paintbrush.
I'm still in the process of finishing the mother mold s, but I have two latex molds completed. So far this product is a 10 out of 10 for me.
Mine was in a plastic tub with a screw top. Goes on very nicely and it does not look like it will need 30 layers.
Hi Thank you!! I like the liquid latex, very nice!! I already made a mold. Worked! Now I just need to cast it. PS is there a way to thickened liquid latex for the last layers at all? Really appreciate Mold Builder.
Not only did I read all of the instructions a bunch, I had two people helping me (I was the model) and I read the reviews on Amazon and watched an Art Molds video showing them making a face mold, which helped us understand parts of the process such as the addition of mohair. I’m very happy with the results. We need to sand it a little but I might not because I like the rustic look. Bonus tip: Add a hanger loop to the back and sign it fully sets but after the model removes it.
Worked great! I wish the instructions were a bit clearer. They made more sense after I finished the project but I wish they were a tad more approachable for first time users.
The 325 mesh brass powder was exactly what I was expecting.
Still learning with it but this alginate mold mix far exceeds the quality of the mix I was buying from Hobby Lobby. Proper mixing results in a very smooth and creamy-like consistency that yields great detail.
As usual Helen filled my order in a handful of minutes then I was back to work knowing the product would arrive in less than a week without a glitch. In every business time is money, but trust and confidence in the product and the
This is the best latex I've used. It dries sturdy after just a few coats.
I followed instructions and the product turned out perfectly on my rugs, whose rubber backings were crumbling. No issues at all. I let the product dry well in between 2 coats. No staining on my wood floors. I bought a large size of the product and there was plenty to coat the bottom of my 3 rugs. I would definitely purchase this product. I recommend using cheap throwaway brushes when you use the product, since there is no good way to really clean the brushes after use.
I love this product
The product was better for simulating windows in the light house models I make. The affect of moisture is a problem, I had to design and build a special dry box and air drier using Arduino sensors and control boards, a 3D printed air drier assembly, and electric control hardware. I found that the air cure rubber mold material from Micromart has moisture, and causes air bubbles in the clear plastic, I am still working on moisture barer for the mold material.
I do like the clear resin, it is less tacky than Epoxy, and less volatile than other resins, it cure to a better hard clear finish. Just have to find a coating for the mold material.
I can share the Arduino circuit and STL files for the air dryer Colum (hold silica gel).
