This is the second video in the Mastering Mold Making series by international mold maker Michael Kryger. In this information packed video Michael demonstrates the art of creating complex molds including multi-part molds. After viewing this video you will be able to construct molds of objects of complex shapes as well as under cuts. Michael demonstrates how to create a two-part mold on large figurative sculpture that will provide numerous reproductions, from claying up to the final pour.
The video then demonstrates the creation of a thin walled two part injection molds. This type of mold is perfect for reproducing models, prototypes and intricate parts.
Michael continues his in studio mold making instruction by demonstrating proper methods creating parting lines, mixing, pouring and de-airing silicone and casting and injecting two-part polyurethane resin.
Michael began as an apprentice mold maker with Boeing Aerospace in Canada where he trained in precision mold making for high tolerance parts. After many years of honing his craft he founded his own mold making business in the United States, 'Dreams to Reality Studios' where he created molds for many of the country's leading industries, production shops and artists. There are few things that Michael does not know about molding and he generously offers them all to you in this video.
