Torso Casting Workshop

The student will learn the art of material selection with demonstration of gypsum, resin and silicone materials, as well as the techniques of de-molding, mold repairing, casting, finishing and mounting. 

The first day the student will learn about general mold making approaches that will include hand casting, a face casting demonstration. material options, mixing and After a lunch break the instructor will create a mold from a live model. After which the mold will be examined, repaired, prepped and for casting. 

The student will then assist in the casting process and taught the layer technique for a high detail gypsum casting.

The second day the student will learn how to remove the cast from the mold and make repairs in preparation for finishing. Secondary mold making will be reviewed and demonstrated. Late in the morning finishing will begin. The student will learn how to apply a realistic faux bronze to his or her cast and mounting options will be offered. 

Upon completion the student will receive a certificate of competency in life casting artistry approved by the Association of Lifecasters International.

LIMITED CAPACITY

The workshop will not exceed 6 students to assure that each student is provided personalized instruction from the instructor. This is our most popular workshop and spaces fill quickly. You are urged to sign up early so you are not disappointed.

WORKSHOP FEES
  The cost of the workshop is $675.00 plus the student's share of the model fee. All materials are included. Reserve your spot for a 10% deposit.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In addition to the workshop fee, students are responsible for sharing the cost of the model fee of $150 if a model is used. Example - if there are 5 students, each student is responsible 1/5th or an additional payment of $30.00. This fee will be collected prior to the start of the workshop.
