When the plaster has set you can de-mold. Have a small box filled with Styrofoam popcorn at the ready. This will support the face mold hen it is removed from the model. Ask the model to lean forward and hold the mold in both hands. Use your finger to carefully slide under the mold between the alginate and the skin and slip your fingers around the edges. This will break the suction and the mold will fall off into the hands of the model. Carefully place it, face down, on the Styrofoam.

Casting the Face Mold
Make certain the mold is clean and free of any debris before you proceed with casting it.Mix the casting plaster such as CastRite according to the directions on the package. Use your hand for mixing.
Allow the face coat to set up with the surface still damp and pour in the plaster to fill the mold. While the plaster is still wet you can embed picture wire so that you have a method of hanging the finished face cast.
Test the surface of the mold after three hours. It should be dry and firm and ready to de-mold.
