ArtMolds At The International Makeup Artist's Show
In London

I’m back from London and finally caught up on sleep . . . that 6 hour
difference played havoc on my sleep cycle.

I’m happy to report that the International Makeup Artist Show went well.
We were struck by the turn out to David Parvin’s, ALI class on Saturday.
Over 200 people attended. It was so packed that people were sitting in the
hallway outside the doors. I did get most of it on video and hope to have it
available for those who wish see the “Newest Techniques in Lifecasting”
for yourself.

At the ArtMold's booth was David Parvin, ALI on the left and Ed McCormick, ALI of ArtMolds on the right. Center is Heather.

We shared our booth with Neill Gorton of Millennium FX. He is without a doubt Europe’s authority on make-up FX and prosthetics creation. To see more about him go to: www.gortonstudio.com.

Neil is offering for the first time, a 7-week and 2-week course on lifecasting and special effects at his studios in Buckinghamshire.

We also met with John Schoonraad, a director of ALI, and extraordinary FX artist in his own right. He created a full body casting (see right) of a young woman for the show using FiberGel. What was so riveting is he made it in one piece and designed the mold so the mold could slip out without cutting it. Truthfully one reason I didn’t sleep on Saturday evening was turning over in my mind how he did it. Thankfully, he revealed his secret to me on Sunday. It was an elegant an artistic pose as well as a technically well executed piece.

Dave Parvin, ALI, conducted a workshop on Saturday demonstrating "The Latest Techniques of Lifecasting," to an overflow audience. He showed how to create a female torso casting using ArtMold's FiberGel, Algislo and plaster saturated cheesecloth for a mother mold.

There was a great deal of artistic body painting at the show. What a great idea to decorate body casts.

Justin Neill, CEO of MouldLife, ArtMold's UK distributor joins in the fun at the ArtMolds booth. Rui and Steven our Portugal and Netherlands distributors respectively, where both on hand with their families for the show and to attend Dave Parvin's lifecasting class.
