Pretty Little World
70" x 34" x 34"
Polyester Resin and Oil Paint
As you approach the piece a motion detector triggers a recording that say," Tomorrow, there's always tomorrow, I think that's what Grandma used to say." A question of whether we are leaving a suitable world for generations to come.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I have always been intrigued by the instantaneous and lingering effect of some magazine photographs of the 50s and 60s, such as published by Time, Life and National Geographic. Many of the photographs seemed to be of familiar human forms placed in unfamiliar settings.

The juxtaposition of real versus the seemingly unreal has caused these images to become permanently ingrained in our minds. But in a recent years the media bombardment of two-dimensional imagery has led to a desensitization of the image's effect.

For this reason I work in a three-dimensional format. I focus on sociological issues and contemporary life; hitting a nerve to encourage viewers to look inward and rediscover their inner feelings and emotions.
