The Ties That Bind

This piece was completed using the following steps/mediums. I first took an alginate impression of all of the hands in place, then I removed the alginate mold from the clients hands and inverted it into a rectangular shaped 2 1/2 inch deep box. I poured the piece with Hydrostone hence, when you remove the mold, it looks like this piece has been sculpted out of a block of stone. I finished with a basic flat white paint and airbrushed a parchment shade on top. I finally completed the piece with an aerosol matte finish.
